A little Persian Orange...in a sea of Forest Green
Another of our neighbor's up north owns a pair of Allis-Chalmers tractors. This is an unstyled WC.
I don't know much about them accept that Gramps wanted to purchase property in which these tractors were included. The gentlemen he bid against mainly wanted the tractors; in a compromise, Gramps got the land, his friend got the tractors.
Theother Allis is this Model B. I remember one trip I came over to inspect this tractor and was greeted by a swarm of mud wasps that had built a nest in the brakes. Luckily, I was not a target and escaped without any stings. I am now more cautious every time I go near this machine.
The WC is quite a workhorse. We've used it several times around the Cabin back before the JD AW was running. Here we are hauling a load of firewood.
The old crank started machine runs well, and has even had a new coat of paint applied with a brush (the B too).
I must say the WC looks awfully tough with that stout front end, and the angled exhaust. It sure doesn't lack for power and the tricycle gear is plenty maneuverable. If it weren't for the ackward handbrakes, it'd be perfect for any chore around the Cabin.
That's our AW John Deere alongside the WC. It is just beginning to get some attention - the magneto has been removed, that's the reason for the plastic covering.
